History

Laguna Seca opened in 1957 in the hills east of Monterey. It is best known for the Corkscrew, a steep downhill left-right. The track was called Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca from 2001 to 2017 and became WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 2018. Over the years it has hosted Can-Am, CART/IndyCar, MotoGP and World Superbike.
