Montgomery Motor Speedway

Opened on dirt in 1953 and paved in 1954, it is billed as Alabama's oldest operating race track. The half-mile hosted six NASCAR Grand National races between 1955 and 1969, won by drivers such as Richard Petty, Bobby Allison and Tim Flock. After a stint as Hyundai vehicle storage in 2006, the Knox family revived racing there in 2009.
