History
Kodiak Island Raceway is a quarter-mile dirt oval at the Kodiak fairgrounds and is the only Alaska race track that is not connected to the road system. It is run by the nonprofit Kodiak Island Racing Association, which was founded in 1983. The track writes its own rules rather than following a national sanctioning body, and its race days mix stock cars with motocross and ATV events.
