History
This complex south of Denver opened in 1959 with a road course, a half-mile oval and a drag strip. It hosted USAC Indy cars from 1968 to 1970 and Trans-Am in 1967 and 1968, and Evel Knievel jumped a row of cars there in 1972. After closing following a fatal crash in 1979 and a brief reopening, it was sold to real estate developers in 1983.
