History
Two local doctors who had backed Aspen's street races bought land at Woody Creek, and racing moved there in July 1963 after Colorado banned racing on city streets. At about 7,900 feet it is billed as the highest road course in the country, and it has run club events for decades. In 2025 the 45-acre property went under contract to Mount Adams Capital, which applied to Pitkin County to redevelop it.
