History
Virginia Motorsports Park opened in 1994 on a roughly 500-acre site south of Petersburg. Beside the drag strip, its Dirtplex area hosts mud bogs, truck and tractor pulls, motocross and the county fair. Tommy and Judy Franklin owned it from 2017 until its 2026 sale to Cuttell Motorsports and the IHRA.
