History
Virginia Motorsports Park opened in 1994 with a quarter-mile strip and seating for about 23,000. Tommy and Judy Franklin, co-founders of the PDRA, bought it in 2017, resurfaced the strip in concrete and made it home to the PDRA World Finals. The NHRA held its Virginia Nationals there through 2025, and in February 2026 the Franklins sold the track to Cuttell Motorsports and the IHRA.
