History
Opened in November 1969 as Texas International Speedway, the two-mile oval was built to the same design as Michigan International Speedway. NASCAR's top series raced there through 1981, and the infield road courses later served club racers. The facility closed in 2017, served as a storage lot for cars flooded by Hurricane Harvey, and was then demolished for a housing development.
