North Wilkesboro Speedway

Opened in 1947, the downhill-uphill five-eighths-mile oval was a NASCAR Cup Series staple for nearly five decades. It lost its dates after the 1996 season when ownership split between Bruton Smith and Bob Bahre, and later short-lived revivals ended in 2011. Speedway Motorsports restored it with state funding, reopening it in 2022 and bringing the NASCAR All-Star Race there from 2023 and a Cup points race in 2026.
