History
The Joliet tri-oval opened in 2001 and hosted IndyCar through 2010, including a 2002 race decided by 0.0024 seconds. NASCAR racing stopped after 2019, and the facility sat mostly idle for several years. NASCAR brought Cup, O'Reilly and ARCA races back on the July 4 weekend in 2026, with Chase Briscoe winning the Cup race.
