History
The site began in 1967 as St. Louis International Raceway and became Gateway International Raceway in 1988; the current egg-shaped 1.25-mile oval opened in 1997. Dover Motorsports ran it until closing it in 2010, and Curtis Francois revived it in 2011, renaming it Gateway Motorsports Park in 2012 and World Wide Technology Raceway in 2019. It added a NASCAR Cup date in 2022 and also hosts IndyCar and NHRA national events.
