History
A group including Chip Ganassi spent about $70 million building this one-mile oval on the grounds of the Sportsman's Park horse track in Cicero. It ran CART races from 1999 to 2002, with Juan Pablo Montoya winning the first, plus Truck Series events in 2000 and 2001. Financial trouble halted operations after 2002, the town bought the property in 2003, and the facility was later torn down for retail and industrial use.
