History
Local hot rod groups opened Woodburn as an eighth-mile strip in 1961 and lengthened it to a quarter mile in 1963. Jim Livingston bought it in 1972, and it became the first West Coast strip with electronic scoreboards. It has held NHRA regional events since 1977 and added seating salvaged from the Seattle Kingdome in 1999.
