History
The quarter-mile strip at the Pima County Fairgrounds, next to Tucson Speedway, ran for years as Southwestern International Raceway. In 2015 three Tucson businessmen took over operations and renamed it Tucson Dragway. It is NHRA-sanctioned and has a very long shutdown area, and it is promoted partly as a safe alternative to street racing.
