History
The low-banked one-mile oval opened in 1964 and became a long-time stop for USAC and later IndyCar. NASCAR's Cup Series arrived in 1988, and the track hosted the championship finale from 2020 to 2025. It was renamed Phoenix Raceway from Phoenix International Raceway after a major 2018 renovation that moved the start/finish line.
