History

The track opened near Kent in 1960 as Pacific Raceways. It was renamed Seattle International Raceway in 1969 and took back its original name in 2002, when the landowning Fiorito family regained control. In the 1960s it hosted USRRC and Trans-Am races, and a 1969 USAC Indy car weekend there was won by Mario Andretti and Al Unser. The drag strip is a regular stop on the NHRA tour.
