History

The Milwaukee Mile began as a dirt horse-and-auto track at the Wisconsin State Fair grounds in 1903, making it the oldest operating motor speedway in the world. It was paved in 1954 and hosted USAC, CART, IndyCar and NASCAR national series events over the following decades. Major racing lapsed after 2015, but IndyCar came back with a doubleheader in 2024.
