History
Racing began on public roads around Watkins Glen in 1948, and a permanent circuit opened in 1956. The Glen hosted the Formula One United States Grand Prix every year from 1961 to 1980. Owned by International Speedway Corporation and now NASCAR, it remains a fixture of both the NASCAR and IMSA calendars.
