History

The Museum of American Speed grew out of the personal collection of Speedway Motors founder Bill Smith and his wife Joyce. Housed next to the Speedway Motors headquarters in Lincoln, it covers racing engines, hot rods, sprint cars, Indianapolis cars and speed equipment history. It is regarded as one of the largest collections of American performance parts and race cars on display.
