History

John Nuckles and Robert Roseberry bought the land in 1945, and the Nuckles family ran the third-mile oval for decades after it opened in 1946. Future Cup champion Benny Parsons was among the drivers who built reputations there, and the track was known for figure-8 and school-bus races. The village of Obetz bought the property in 2016, and the Fortress Obetz stadium now occupies the site.
